Secrets, Secrets…

In the last “Adventures of Superbott”, Superbott used his special powers to locate Janey Frank, a nine year old girl who had been kidnapped.  He found it necessary to call on C-Thru due to a few blunders trying out his powers.  Eventually he seemed to get the hang of it.  Once Janey was home safe and sound, he decided to tell her his secret, that he was really Clancy, the Frank’s domestic robot.  He asked Janey not to tell anyone.  We left off in our story when Janey went to greet her mother after arriving home.

Janey found Jill in her bedroom.  Jill was crying.  “What’s wrong, Mom?”, Janey said quietly.  Jill looked up and exclaimed, “Janey! Thank God you’re okay!!  I’m so happy to see you!!”  Jill hugged Janey so hard she felt as smashed as a pancake.  “I can’t breathe!”, she said.  Jill asked, “Where were you?  We were worried sick.”  Janey had already decided she would not tell her parents about Clancy’s secret and she didn’t remember the kidnapping because the kidnapper knocked her out with a drug.  So she said, “I fell asleep.”  You see, this wasn’t a lie.  Jill said, “But where?”  Janey replied, “I don’t remember.  The last thing I remember was swinging on the swing set.”

Seeking Janey

In the last “Adventures of Superbott”, Fred, the detective, found the place in the fence where Janey was taken.  Clancy heard Fred talking to John and decided to become Superbott.  He called on his inner-self, the 3D hologram, and made a deal with him.  He would becoome Superbott if the 3D hologram, whom he named C-Thru, would help him stay with the Franks.  Clancy became Superbott.  His physique became more human-like.  He had to learn how to walk on human legs.  He began learning about his Superbott powers.  He is able to see visions.  He can turn invisible with a special type of sweat.  Superbott saw a vision of Janey being abducted.  We left off in our story where Superbott is standing by the place in the fence and is having a vision of Janey being abducted…

Superbott saw Janey being abducted in his vision.  The perpetrator was a strong, tall man with muscular build and blond wavy hair.  Janey was hanging around his neck, asleep, apparently knocked out from some kind of drug.  The perpetrator scaled the wall almost effortlessly and dropped to the other side.  Superbott saw him go to a waiting car that sped off.  Obvjously there was an accomplice.  Superbott snapped out of his vision.  Suddenly, he saw John and Fred rounding the corner, so he began to sweat.  Knowing he was invisible, he listened in.

Surprising Visions

In the last “Adventures of Superbott”, while enjoying seven days of rest due to the R&R error, Clancy tried to crack the code that would allow him to become Superbott.  His plan is to pretend to be Superbott while working as a domestic robot for the Frank family.  Clancy’s internal 3D hologram informed him he already knows about his deceptive plan.  Clancy finished out his seven days of rest and went back to work.  Young Janey Frank goes missing and the whole family is upset.  Since an abduction is suspected, the police are called.  We resume our story while the phone is ringing.  Is it the kidnappers?

John ran to the phone and picked it up.  “Hello?”, he said, with his voice quivering slightly.  “Hello, sir.  My name is George Foreman.  Not the famous George Foreman, a different one.  I have an outstanding offer for you today.”  John said, “Um, I’m sorry, this isn’t a good time.”  “Well this will only take a minute or two to explain.  I don’t want you to miss this opportunity…”  John cut him off, “You don’t understand, I am in the middle of a crisis and can’t talk right now.”  “Sir, I understand you are busy.  We all have a crisis or two of our own.  Now let me explain this offer because if you don’t hear about it now you won’t get another chance.”  John yelled with his face turning a dark shade of red, “What part of I don’t have time to talk do you not understand!!  Take your special offer and stick it…” John stopped and quickly hung up the phone.  He said, “This is stressful.  Let’s get back to finding Janey.”

Where’s Janey?

In the last “Adventures of Superbot” Clancy struggled with the idea of becoming Superbot. He tried to avoid it altogether and overworked himself into the R & R error.  While resting, Clancy could not shake Glenda’s words from his mind, so he decided to become Superbot, but on his terms. Clancy has no intention of saving Robotica; he just wants to get back to his life with the Franks.

Clancy spun his head around three times. “Whoa, I feel dizzy and sick to my battery.”, he thought.   He started beeping the error beep: “BEEP, BEEP”.   He read the code from his internal computer.   333.   “333? Now what?”, he thought.   “Hmmm, 111 is 333 divided by 3. 3 plus 3 plus 3 is 9. 3 times 3 times 3 is 27.   SO WHAT! All of this is meaningless.   I never was good at puzzles, why me?”.   Clancy took a deep breath and said to himself, “Ok, you can do this.   Nothing is too hard for you.   Now, I had to spin my head three times and this gave me the error code 333.   This cannot be a coincidence.

I know, I’ll check the manual and see what it says for error code 333.”   Clancy pointed his memory marker to the page in the manual having error code 333.   “The robot’s balance sensor has tripped.   Stand the robot on its head to reset the sensor.”, he read.   “Oh, great.   More gymnastics.   Here goes nothing.”   Clancy let himself out of the charger base pushed himself on his head and heard a gentle POP from deep within him.   He turned himself over and said,   “At least I feel a lot better.   I wonder what I should do now?”

A Little R & R

In the last “Adventures of Superbott” we learned that domestic robot Clancy is actually the son of Queen Charise, Queen of Robotica.  Clancy was created from refurbished components of the queen during the  Robotica Revolution and stolen by a band of smugglers.  Clancy holds a secret code, when cracked, will turn him into “Superbott”.  Clancy, however, prefers to remain a domestic robot, working for the Frank family.

Once Glenda was gone, Clancy feverishly worked on his chores.  He worked with such blazing speed, when the Franks came home and saw that everything was done, they decided to run a diagnostic test.  “Okay, Clancy, now you just hold still while I run this test.”, John said, with slight concern in his voice.  Clancy thought, “Oh no, here we go again.  I hate the diagnostic test.  It gives me heartburn.”

The test ran for eight long minutes and ended with a quiet “BEEP”.  John said, “Hmmm, Error Code 1048.  I’ll have to look in the manual to figure that one out.”  Clancy thought, “Error Code 1048, what’s that!?”

My Life Turned Upside Down

Once upon a time, in 2081, there was a domestic robot named Clancy.  Clancy was a good home robot.  He did most of the household chores.  He washed the dishes, he vacuumed and cleaned the floors, he did the laundry, he mowed the lawn.

Clancy loved his owners, the Franks, a family of five.  John and Jill Frank have three young children, Janey, age 9, John Jr., age 7, and Sylvia, age 5.  His owners loved Clancy because they have a lot more time to themselves.

One day, while the family was gone and Clancy was vacuuming the floor crumbs from breakfast, Clancy heard a loud noise that sounded like “SWOOSH” followed by three pops: “POP, POP, POP”.  Suddenly a beautiful fairy robot appeared.  “Clancy,” she said in a voice as sweet as honey, “ I am here to give you some wonderful news.”  Clancy just stared with his vacuum hanging on his robot arm.  He was dumbfounded.  He didn’t know what to say.  “Clancy, sit down”, the fairy robot said while pulling over a chair.  She reached over, turned off his vacuum and looked him right in the eyes.  “Clancy, my name is Glenda.  I am your fairy robot mother.  My job is to watch out for you.  Today, I was alerted by Queen Charise in Robotica that you are ready to hear the good news.”  Clancy was stunned.  “News?”, he said.  “What news?”
